Nick Young’s tweets making fun of Warriors fans resurface after being signed by Warriors

Nick Young might have some explaining to do when he touches down in Oakland. It didn’t take long for fans to sift through his Twitter account and find tweets from 2016 in which he called out Warriors fans for not knowing anything about basketball.

Limited Mens Jesse James Jersey Joseph makes $7.6 million next season, and clearing that off the team’s payroll will give Toronto some room to breathe. This probably isn’t the only move that the Raptors are discussing: trading DeMarre Carroll or Jonas Valanciunas would allow Toronto to really shed salary, and both players seem moveable. (Valanciunas was the team’s starting center, but the Raptors arguably drafted his replacement in 2016 and also have Bruno Caboclo potentially ready to move into a larger role.)

For Indiana, dealing for Joseph would give them a point guard for their rebuild that’s still only 25 years old and a decent prospect. The Pacers recently lost Jeff Teague to free agency and have reportedly considered Lance Stephenson at the point, which would be highly entertaining. But a tank doesn’t mean that the Pacers stop playing all semblance of organized basketball, and you still need someone to reliably get Myles Turner the ball so his development isn’t stunted. Absorbing Joseph’s salary would do that.

Shaq also took the opportunity provided by his wild new shoes to throw a lighthearted jab at Lonzo Ball’s Big Baller Brand, tagging his post #shaqshoestherealbigballerbrand. You know, that popular hashtag. And while Lonzo Ball’s shoes have gotten a lot of attention for their $500 price tag, I can’t even imagine how much Shaq’s glowing, possibly hovering sneakers cost.

Steph Curry is all of us after watching ‘Game of Thrones’

Steph Curry is enjoying his trip to China, but we’re becoming a little concerned he’s watched too much Game of Thrones. So is his brother, Seth.

Bennie Logan Kids Jersey Why, yes, that is Steph Curry holding a sword with an angry expression like he’s going to behead his brother on Instagram. We’re glad you noticed, too.

Seth is okay, otherwise he wouldn’t have lived to post the tale of his brush with death. Meanwhile, Steph — we’re glad you’re having fun, but be safe out there. What would you mother think?

Few players worked free agency better than Iguodala. He took meetings with suitors and even hinted at interest from the rival Spurs. Most people assumed he would return to Golden State, but it would have been interesting to see if he had been forced to choose between a hometown discount or the Kings’ riches. The Warriors smartly never going to let it get to that point and Iguodala got his three years at a premium price. Leverage only exists for those who choose to use it.

Whether it was because of KD’s largesse or the largeness of Joe Lacob’s ambition, general manager Bob Myers didn’t have to scrape by on the margins when filling out the rest of the roster. He signed Young to a 3-year deal and added Omri Casspi, which looks kinda genius. In retaining veteran David West and Zaza Pachulia, the Warriors luxury tax bill will push the payroll to around $175 million. That doesn’t include the $3.5 million the Warriors paid Chicago to buy a second round pick to take Jordan Bell. Including tax implications their payroll over the next few years could be over a billion dollars. That’s … a lot.

Lowry might have been the best guard in the Eastern Conference this season until an elbow injury derailed his All-NBA campaign. Lowry blossomed into an all-star in Toronto, but the franchise has vowed changes after a disappointing sweep by the Cavaliers. The Raptors are already paying DeMar DeRozan more than $30 million per season. Can they pay the backcourt $65-70 million a year and build a competitive team around them? Perhaps not.

Jon Lester gave up 9 runs in less than 2 innings and might also be injured

Jon Lester’s outing against the Reds on Thursday was rough from the outset, with him barely getting through two innings before leaving the game.

He gave up seven hits and a walk, struck nobody out, and allowed a total of nine runs (seven of them earned). Because of his day, Lester’s ERA skyrocketed from a respectable 3.99 to 4.37 in a matter of two innings.

He threw 40 pitches and Cincinnati sent 13 batters to the plate in one inning.

John, a longtime videographer at the local Sox station, recently found out he had ALS. Fundraising efforts for his ongoing treatment and needs have been underway ever since.

Pedro looked pretty good pitching again, and told CSN New England that he “exceeded the expectations I had of myself.” He grounded out during his at-bat but nobody was hanging around to see Pedro bat anyway, presumably.

He also chimed in about current Sox standout Chris Sale, saying he’s “never seen something like” Sale’s pitching and that he’s a “little shocked.” If any Sox fans weren’t on board with having Sale around (if those people exist), a gold star from Pedro ought to be just the thing to change their mindredskins_010_d364e8b1330a300d-180x180

The Nationals have had a large divisional lead pretty much all season

“We ought to be able to lead the effort and if others in the community favor a change, we would welcome it — particularly in light of the country’s current leadership stance with regard to intolerance.”

The other question is what it could be changed to, if that change is allowed. Henry is publicly throwing his support behind David Ortiz receiving the honor but acknowledges that it will be an ongoing process. Perhaps, in this particular situation, a fan vote should be eschewed for a more official process.

The Nationals have had a large divisional lead pretty much all season, but even with their stellar record they had a clear weakness earlier in the year in the bullpen. Before the All-Star break, Washington relievers had a 5.20 ERA and a strikeout rate of 20.7 percent.

A pair of trades have bolstered the relief corps in the nation’s Marshon Lattimore Jerseys capital. Madson and Sean Doolittle were acquired from the Oakland Athletics on July 16, and the Nationals got Brandon Kintzler from the Minnesota Twins on July 31.

Since the All-Star break, Nationals relievers have a collective 3.83 ERA and a 25.6-percent strikeout rate, a marked improvement from the first half.

The trio of acquisitions have been even better, combining for a 1.50 ERA with Washington, with 30 strikeouts and eight walks in 30 innings. Madson has been the best of the group with nine scoreless innings and 13 strikeouts Andrew Cashner Jerseys against just one walk, holding batters to just .161/.212/.290 with his new team.

The DL move for Madson was made retroactive to Monday, meaning the earliest he could be activated is Aug. 24.

the Dodgers have been safe and prudent

Limited Mens Olivier Vernon Jersey They’re the biggest scam in baseball, really, other than pre-arbitration salaries and what minor leaguers make. Paying baseball players to get older is always a bad idea. Time will come for them all, even Mike Trout, and yet teams have to pay them as if that’s not true because it’s just about the only way to build a competitive team.

With every free agent, you can look at the projected stats and extrapolate what the player might do over the life of the contract. You can factor in the decline and make an educated decision.

And once you’ve done that, the free agent can join the team and throw those stats and projections into a vat of acid. This is the only lesson Sandoval can really teach us: Sometimes, things just go all screwy.

Boy, did things go all screwy with Pablo Sandoval and the Boston Red Sox. A change of scenery is going to be welcome, I’m sure, and he’s not finished yet. Someone will be glad to pick up a player with Sandoval’s history on a league-minimum salary. The odds are against him, though, and it’s likely he’ll never be an even average hitter again.

After that deadline, though, the Dodgers have been safe and prudent, hanging on to their best prospects, regardless of what was dangled in front of them. But the sense of urgency kept growing. There aren’t bonus points awarded for division titles in Dodgers land.

Carlos Correa will have surgery for a torn thumb ligament, miss 6 to 8 weeks

Shortstop Carlos Correa will have surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb and is expected to be out as long as six to eight weeks, the Houston Astros announced Tuesday. That’s the same procedure Mike Trout went through, and he returned to Anaheim’s roster in just over seven weeks.
Kids Joe Sakic Jersey
However, as Fox’s Ken Rosenthal reports, Correa is expected to be available again close to eight full weeks after the surgery, which means the Astros will be without their starting shortstop until the first few weeks of September at the earliest.

With that being said, Morrison’s complaints are misguided and he has a fundamental misunderstanding of what the Home Run Derby is all about. This is the most entertaining showcase for the league all year and one of the biggest draws for casual sports fans across the country.

Kids John Carlson Jersey Because of that, the league would be crazy not to showcase its stars, and specifically its up-and-coming stars. Morrison objects to them choosing a Yankee in Sanchez, but New York’s catcher would be a rising star wherever he plays, and the league should let the world see his power. Morrison has had a fantastic start to his season, but he’s not going to be a draw now or at any point in the future. That’s the league’s biggest concern, and they made the right call. Sanchez, Judge, and the rest of the participants will put on a show.

For the Cubs, Quintana is an immediate upgrade to a rotation that’s struggled with consistency this season. His overall results have been down this season, too, with a 4.49 ERA over 104.1 innings, but his underlying numbers indicate that he’s pitched better than that.

Bucs release embattled kicker Roberto Aguayo

The Bucs have released embattled kicker Roberto Aguayo, bringing an end to a stint that began with a rookie season that saw the second-round pick serve largely as either a punchline or a punching bag.

The Buccaneers’ second-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft missed an extra point and a field-goal attempt in Tampa Bay’s preseason-opening loss to the Bengals on Friday.

Freeman began practice with the team Sunday but left after about an hour and 20 minutes accompanied by a member of the training staff.

The team has ruled Freeman out for its second preseason game Sunday against the Steelers as a precaution, though it remains unclear if he will miss the remainder of the exhibition games as well.

“We were definitely disappointed that it happened,” Quinn said. “But as far as heading into the future, that’s out of my hands in terms of the (doctors). Let them handle that. Let’s just see how it goes. It’s too early to make that — I’ll rule him out for this week for sure but past that? He’s not gonna get a ton of reps this preseason. Nor is Matt (Ryan) or Julio (Jones). We’ve got real competition at running back and I am trying to find out quite a bit about a number of guys so we’ll take it from there.”

The Falcons last week made Freeman the league’s highest-paid rusher with a five-year extension worth $41.25 million. He’s missed just one game in three seasons with Atlanta and is an accomplished pass-catcher with 157 receptions in his career.

They had high hopes for Blackledge as the No. 7 overall pick out of Penn State in the vaunted 1983 QB draft class. Unfortunately, despite some ability to avoid pressure, he went only 12-13 over five years with only a 49.1 completion percentage, 29 touchdowns and a 62.0 rating. At least Blackledge has found a pretty good career as a college football analyst and connoisseur.dolphins_013

Throughout the induction weekend, two things stood out about Raines taking his spot in the Baseball Hall of Fame.

The first is this: He was in Cooperstown representing a city (Montreal) that no longer has a baseball team but desperately wants to be back in the big leagues.

When we played in the golf tournament, I saw a lot of hats, a lot of uniforms and a lot of Expos fans out there. It’s great to see that, Raines said Saturday. We don’t have a team now but I think me being able to go into the Hall as an Expo kind of brings that life back, and hopefully it can get baseball back in Montreal again.

Joonas Donskoi Elite Jersey It’s fair to say there were more Quebec license plates in Cooperstown than most years. And that wasn’t lost on Raines, who relished going in with an Expos cap on his plaque.

It means a lot. I spent the majority of my career in Montreal. I spent 12 years there, and not only that, my two best friends in baseball, Andre Dawson and Gary Carter, were teammates of mine when my career started, both went in as Expos, he said. I’m pretty sure they felt the same way. We felt like we were Expos. We were drafted by the Expos, we played most of our careers there. … That’s where it started for me, and it’s only fitting that going into the Hall, I’m an Expo.

It was that potential that convinced Johnson to make the move to Thomas — at Stricker’s urging.

All the while, Spieth was winning the Masters and U.S. Open in 2015 and contending at The Open and PGA. He was winning the FedEx Cup and its $10 million bonus and being pegged The Boy Wonder, by none other than Thomas.

The two have been playful rivals, but sure, there was a tinge of envy. How could there not be?

Clayton Kershaw feels strong after throwing session

Kirk Cousins Authentic Jersey Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw is throwing and will likely have a bullpen session in the next few days.

Kershaw, 15-2 with a 2.04 ERA this season, has been on the DL since July 23 with back tightness.

He’s close, manager Dave Roberts told reporters (via ESPN). I think it just makes sense for us to be cautious. We just don’t want to put ourselves in any situation where there’s a setback. The calendar’s on our side. I know that Clayton resists that. But I think as an organization it’s best for him and best for all of us to err on the side of caution.

There’s no timetable for Kershaw’s return, but the Dodgers would like to have him make four or five starts before the postseason.

Just like Kim, Son once made an appeal to MLB clubs (in 2015), but failed to garner a bid and stayed with the Lotte Giants. Facing free agency this offseason, Son is putting together another strong season by hitting .335/.420/.506 with 13 home runs.

I feel like he has the bat speed and the athleticism to do pretty well over here, Thames said.

Son has hit over .300 in every season since 2010 and has made name for himself for being an undersized-but-gritty-type player. That being said, the biggest knock against him is his size. He’s listed at 5-7 and weighs 185 pounds. It will be interesting to see how MLB scouts view him this fall and offseason.

Rich has told the Cowboys this information

On June 22, Whitehead was in Dallas, per his flight ticket that Rich has a copy of. Whitehead’s United flight left 7:18 am direct to Washington D.C. that morning and landed at 11:30 am – that is 10 hours after the shoplifting crime occurred in Woodbridge, Va.

Rich told the Cowboys he didn’t appear in court because he never received the citation and summons. The reason he didn’t receive the citation and summons is because he wasn’t in the state when the crime occurred, Rich said. Still the Cowboys announced they released Whitehead.

The NFLPA had a small lockout fund in 2011, but it was nothing compared to the $4 billion owners were sitting on thanks to guaranteed television contracts.
